Senior Mechanical Engineer – Product Lifecycle Engineering (PLE)The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for product design integrity, leading cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers.As a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on Product Lifecycle Engineering, you will work independently and with cross-functional teams to sustain and improve existing mechanical products, resolve field and manufacturing issues, support new product introductions and cost-reduction efforts. You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, Suppliers and Test, to ensure products remain reliable, compliant, manufacturable, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Together, we'll unlock your potential and create a lasting impact.While this is the current structure and we currently have no plans to change, we reserve the right to make changes to the hybrid schedule as needed at the Company's discretion.What You Will Do:Conduct structured problem-solving approaches to design challenges to determine root causesUtilize engineering tools (FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Analysis & DFM/DFA) to ensure that requirement risks are evaluated and mitigated early in the design process.Develop required design documentation, 3D models/drawings, and instructions for manufacturing and product test requirements. Experience with Creo is a plus.Work with all engineering disciplines in a team environment with good understanding of cross functional design processes (high focus on interactions with Systems Engineering, Hardware and Firmware)Coordinate development timelines and track activities to meet delivery and cost commitments.Maintain awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensure complianceWhat You Need to Succeed:BS in Mechanical Engineering.5+ years of experience in the design, development, implementation, and integration of mechanical systems.Ability to quickly build proof-of-concept solutions that are forward-looking to how they could be implemented on a larger scale.Experience with manufacturing processes such as die casting, investment casting, powdered metal, stampings, injection molded plastics, machining, LPM, and rapid prototyping is a plus.Experience with CAD Software (Creo preferred) and Windchill PLM SoftwareSelf-motivated mindset with strong engineering project management skills.Travel requirements, including international travel: 15%Why Work for Us?You're seeking a rewarding opportunity that allows you to truly help others.
