To be eligible for Skills for Chicago services, candidates must reside in Illinois or Indiana, be authorized to work in the United States, and be either unemployed or underemployed. Inherent Homes L3CInherent L3C is a mission-driven organization dedicated to expanding access to affordable homeownership as a means of addressing systemic social challenges. By developing all-electric, solar-ready homes priced within reach of moderate-income families, they aim to ensure long-term housing stability and community resilience. Their model prioritizes public benefit over profit, working in partnership with local governments and organizations. Job Highlights Clean, sand, scrape, and patch surfaces (walls, ceilings, trim, etc,) to prepare them for painting. Apply basic coats of paint, primer, or sealant under the direct supervision of a skilled painter. Clean and maintain brushes, rollers, spray, guns, and other painting tools and equipment immediately after use.
Candidate Profile: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).Residential and/or commercial painting; 2-3 years (Required) Previous experience in construction or manual labor, caulking, and wood putting experience. Ability to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch for long durations.
