About the role
Do you enjoy sharing your gifts and talents as a musician? We have a great opportunity for you to play your instrument and/or sing songs to be a source of encouragement to the patients who are coming to the end of their life. Sharing your gift of music and offering companionship to our patients can make a difference and brighten their day! Volunteers will meet with patients one-on-one in nursing facilities or homes, with occasional opportunities to play in front of groups if desired. You do not have to be a professional musician to serve, but should be comfortable and confident in front of others. We want volunteering to be easy and convenient! We have several opportunities throughout Cuyahoga, Lorain, Summit and Medina Counties that we can assign you to serve and schedule is flexible. You do not need hospice experience; we will provide training. Hospice is not about giving up on life; we celebrate life! We strive to enhance the quality of our patients' days by giving comfort, peace and dignity. We would love to give you an opportunity to share your gift of music with our patients.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
