About the role

Your Role at Tessy The QC Chemist uses Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to produce, inspect, and analyze material for use in medical diagnostics including non-critical bioreagents for use in product and manufacturing processes. They maintain a broad range of knowledge of scientific principles and theories that must be applied to troubleshooting and diagnostic tests and demonstrate knowledge of these scientific principles combined with technical proficiency to maintain a high standard of production. The QC Chemist works in a team setting and coordinates manufacturing efforts based upon a set production schedule and maintaining the raw bio-reagent supply as needed to support this schedule. They work in a coordinated effort both performing individual tasks and cooperative group projects on complicated processes and are responsible for maintaining Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices (GMP or GLP), orderly and accurate paperwork, quality systems and maintaining the integrity of manufactured products. They must conduct and interpret data and use applied judgment when deciding a course of action.
What You’ll Be Doing: Maintains and supports the production schedule. Investigates problem areas and areas of desirable improvement. Understands and responds to customer needs. Undertakes new procedures and observes proper safety precautions. Maintains quality systems and proper GMP/GLP.Works in a multidisciplinary team with other chemists and technicians. Creates and follows protocols designed around product improvement. Responsible for in-process QC testing of manufacturing material as it relates to qualifications, quality inspections and titration.
What You’ll Bring: Associates degree in a science related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with national and international testing standards related to mechanical and chemical testing; 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 standards. Experience in the use of laboratory equipment and procedures (To include pH meters, Pipetting, HPLC, Spectrophotometer, Osmometer, bulk solution prep, etc.)Knowledge of laboratory relevant software and experience with Word, Excel, and Power Point. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently, simultaneously able to work effectively in team-oriented environment. Must possess the literacy and mathematical skills necessary to complete the requirements of the position, follow safety protocols and production instructions. The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Communicate effectively and clearly, in oral and written communications, expressing thoughts clearly and translating complex business concepts into understandable language for relevant stakeholders.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in a science related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fundamental classes in biology, immunology, and chemistry. Extensive experience with pipetting, pH meters, Gel Electrophoresis, ELISA assays, gravimetric/volumetric measurements, aseptic technique.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
