Job Overview:
UMS is hiring dedicated Mail Processors to join our team! This is an entry-level position that requires no prior experience. We are looking for reliable team players who are punctual, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in quality work. As a Mail Processor, you will pull mail off of sorting machines and ensure that it is properly sorted and packaged. You will also help us deliver accurate, timely service to our customers and the USPS. You will report directly to your Department Supervisor or Shift Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Production and Mail Processing: Sweep and package mail into designated bins and trays then label containers according to USPS guidelines. Material Handling: Load and unload mail trays/tubs from pallets and USPS All-Purpose Carriers; move full trays to designated shop floor areas. Adaptability: Rotate across different workstations or machines as needed to maintain high efficiency and focus. Teamwork & Communication: Follow supervisor directions, troubleshoot basic issues, and escalate production problems to management when necessary. Policy & Safety Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all company safety, security, attendance, and workplace policies.
Work Environment:
Help maintain a clean, organized work area (sweeping, equipment cleanup, general housekeeping).
Physical Requirements & Qualifications
Experience:
None requiredwe will train you! Lifting: Ability to repetitively lift containers weighing 2025 lbs. Stamina: Ability to stand and walk along a production line for the duration of your shift. Dexterity: Continuous upper-body movement (twisting/turning) and manual dexterity to grasp, hold, and process mail rapidly. Reliability: Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
