About the role

The Role: Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design and run backend-heavy services for a software platform while also delivering the front-end features that make them usable. Partner closely with company leadership and external users, holding wide ownership of technical and product choices from the outset.
What You'll Do: Build and maintain backend services that support a data-driven software platform. Design data models for datasets, test runs, traces, versioned content and user-defined quality criteria. Own connections to third-party systems across their lifecycle, from authentication and webhooks to syncing, error handling, monitoring and production support. Carry features from initial design through release and ongoing iteration based on feedback. Work hands-on with customers to understand their environments, diagnose problems and turn bespoke requests into reusable capabilities. What We're Looking For2 to 4 years of professional experience shipping and operating live software, with some of it in a fast-moving startup setting. Strong backend skills in TypeScript and Node.js, plus the ability to deliver across the full stack. Solid PostgreSQL knowledge and practical exposure to asynchronous processing or task orchestration. A self-directed approach and a history of seeing projects through from idea to launch on your own. An appreciation of why validating non-deterministic AI behavior calls for different methods than traditional unit tests. Comfortable working on-site in San Francisco.
Bonus Points: Early or founding engineering experience at a young company. Background building integration-heavy or API-driven products for business customers. Familiarity with enterprise AI, observability or distributed systems. Exposure to a fast-growing AI company. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
