About the role
- Analyzes all project bid documents to understand and communicate the project scope, schedule and general requirements to the bid team.
- Prepares a complete quantity survey for specific project scope.
- Prepares a complete and accurate cost estimate for the project scope as required
- Prepares vendor RFQ's for the solicitation of quotations as required for the preparation of the cost estimate.
- Reviews vendor quotations for accuracy, completeness and conformity with the bid documents.
- Updates vendors with plans, specifications and addenda.
- Prepares scope drawings to communicate to clients and vendors the proper scope.
- Assists operations with post-award takeoffs, buyouts and addenda pricing as required
- Increases estimating effectiveness by achieving assigned goals; meeting deadlines and commitments, accepting responsibility for decisions; and developing new skills and knowledge.
- Follows best practices, helping best practices evolve further and share experiences and learning with others in the organization.
- Remains current on new technology.
- Performs additional assignments as requested by direct supervisor
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or University.
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents including drawings, specifications and bid instructions.
- Experience in curtainwall, glazing, facades, cladding, building envelope, or architectural metals preferred.
- Strong general computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam Revu, ACAD, Navisworks, and RevitStrong spatial aptitude
- Strong independent work ethic and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
