Architectural Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector – Federal Construction
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Company: Ozell Services, Inc. Ozell Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Architectural Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on complex federal construction projects at Fort Meade, Maryland. This is an owner-side construction quality assurance role supporting major vertical construction projects. The position will work closely with the USACE project team and will focus heavily on field inspections, quality assurance documentation, and participation in contractor QC meetings.
Key Responsibilities: Perform architectural QA inspections of ongoing construction activities Participate in the three-phase inspection process, including preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections Document field inspections, observations, deficiencies, and corrective actions Prepare daily quality assurance reports and other required inspection documentation Attend and participate in contractor QC, progress, and coordination meetings Review construction plans, specifications, and applicable contract requirements Monitor architectural installations for compliance with contract documents and quality standards Track deficiencies, punch-list items, and corrective actions through resolution Support review of RFIs, submittals, as-built drawings, and other construction documentation as required Utilize USACE Resident Management System (RMS) and Microsoft Office for project documentation
Qualifications: Significant experience in architectural construction, construction inspection, quality control, or quality assurance Strong background in vertical commercial, institutional, military, or federal construction Experience inspecting architectural scopes such as framing, drywall, ceilings, doors and hardware, flooring, finishes, and related building systems Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Knowledge of construction means and methods and the three-phase QC process Strong field documentation and communication skillsOSHA 10-hour Construction Safety trainingUSACE Construction Quality Management (CQM) certification strongly preferred Federal/DoD construction experience strongly preferred Experience with USACE RMS preferred Must be able to meet federal installation access and background requirements
