About the role
Grille Assembly Technician The Grille Assembly Technician is responsible for the fabrication and assembly of protective grille assemblies used on Clair Global loudspeakers. This position performs hands-on preparation, bonding, and finishing of metal grille components using fabric, foam, adhesives, pigments, hand tools, and power tools. The Grille Assembly Technician is responsible for producing clean, consistent, and properly finished grille assemblies that meet established quality standards and production requirements. The position also supports speaker assembly and quality control activities as needed.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties:
Prepare metal grille components and materials for assembly according to work orders, drawings, specifications, and established procedures. Measure, mark, and accurately cut acoustic fabric and foam materials to the required dimensions for individual grille assemblies. Prepare, mix, and accurately apply adhesive and pigment mixtures used to bond fabric or foam to metal grille components. Operate and maintain adhesive spray equipment, including cleaning and maintaining spray guns, cups, liners, hoses, and related equipment. Apply fabric or foam to metal grille frames and panels, ensuring proper alignment, coverage, adhesion, and finished appearance. Inspect completed grille assemblies for proper fit, adhesion, alignment, cleanliness, and overall workmanship. Use a variety of hand tools and battery-powered/pneumatic power tools to assist with grille fabrication and assembly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and storage of adhesives, pigments, tools, and production clean and maintain tools, fixtures, spray equipment, and work surfaces to ensure consistent production quality. Assist with speaker cabinet and component assembly when grille production requirements allow or as directed by the Speaker Assembly Supervisor. Support Quality Control (QC) activities, including inspecting metalwork and grille assemblies to verify that components meet established specifications before moving to the next stage of production. Ability and willingness to learn new manufacturing processes and equipment. Experience 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, cabinet assembly, upholstery, fabrication, painting/finishing, or a related hands-on production environment preferred. Previous experience working with adhesives, spray equipment, fabric, foam, or finishing processes preferred. Experience using hand tools and air/battery-powered tools. Work Environment:
Ability to stand and perform hands-on assembly work for extended periods. Ability to frequently use hands and fingers for cutting, trimming, bonding, fastening, and detailed assembly to safely handle tools, materials, and grille components throughout the production process. Ability to maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive production tasks. Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, including applicable requirements for handling adhesives, pigments, and spray equipment.
