Branch Manager
Austin, TX
Southwest Mobile Storage Inc. is looking for a Branch Manager for our Austin location. The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the branch, ensuring efficiency across all departments, driving business growth, and maintaining high standards in customer service, inventory, and safety. This role requires a strong leader who can mentor staff, solve complex problems, manage financials, and ensure the branch operates smoothly. The Branch Manager will be involved in sales, employee management, financial oversight, and business development, while also maintaining relationships with customers and vendors. The role requires multitasking, effective time management, and a passion for the industry, with a focus on achieving company growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage daily branch operations including dispatch, yard, shop, delivery, and customer service activities.
Supervise branch personnel including operations, dispatch, shop, drivers, and administrative staff.
Support sales efforts and maintain strong customer relationships within the branch market.
Monitor branch operational performance, workflow efficiency, and service quality.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, coaching, scheduling, and employee development.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, DOT regulations, and operational procedures.
Monitor branch inventory, equipment, repairs, and operational readiness.
Coordinate communication between sales, operations, dispatch, and executive leadership.
Review branch reporting, operational metrics, and financial performance.
Assist with resolving escalated customer service or operational issues.
Maintain confidentiality of company operational and employee information.
Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Monitor and improve dispatch KPIs including route efficiency, fleet utilization, on-time performance, missed moves, overtime management, and driver productivity.
Lead daily dispatch coordination activities including route reviews, operational updates, move prioritization, and driver communication.
Maintain accuracy within dispatch systems, scheduling tools, GPS tracking platforms, and operational reporting systems.
Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Yard, Drivers, and Branch Leadership to support communication alignment and operational execution.
Coach and support drivers and dispatch personnel through accountability, communication, and operational leadership.
Support DOT compliance, DVIR accountability, operational safety expectations, and hours-of-service awareness.
Identify opportunities for operational process improvement to improve efficiency, communication, and service execution.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Perform additional duties requested by upper management.
Required Qualification:
High school diploma or equivalent required
5+ years of branch, operations, logistics, transportation, construction, or management experience preferred
Previous management or supervisory experience required
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills required
Microsoft Office proficiency including Excel, Word, and Outlook required
Experience in equipment rental, transportation, storage, or construction industry preferred
Customer service and communication skills
Problem solving and decision-making abilities
