About the role
Data Center Commissioning Specialist – Mechanical We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to support mission-critical Data Center project in Northern Virginia. This role will lead and perform mechanical commissioning activities, including equipment startup, QA/QC, functional performance testing, and L4/L5 commissioning, while supporting L0–L3 activities.
Location:
Northern Virginia / Arlington, VAHourly Pay DOE, plus a daily per Diem, Medical, Dental, and vision after 30 days 1-2 year Project
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical commissioning activities for data center projects. Perform and oversee L4/L5 functional performance testing. Support and review L0–L3 commissioning activities. Commission mechanical, plumbing, BAS/controls, life safety, and facility systems. Coordinate with owners, contractors, project teams, and stakeholders. Verify systems meet design requirements, operational standards, and client expectations. Document testing, deficiencies, results, and commissioning activities. Apply ASHRAE, NFPA, TAB, and applicable commissioning standards.
Qualifications:
10+ years of progressive mechanical commissioning experience.2–3+ years of focused data center commissioning experience, including L4/L5 testing. Commissioning certification OR significant L4/L5 data center commissioning experience. Experience with mechanical systems, plumbing, BAS/controls, utilities, life safety, and facility O&M.Strong understanding of construction processes and commissioning requirements. Working knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and TAB standards.
