Job Description:
Ophthalmic Technician duties include working with patients and physicians for examination and treatment of the eyes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and escort them to room.
- Obtain patient's chief complaint, medical history, medications and allergies, and eye history.
- Check patient's eye prescription with lensometer.
- Check patients vision, pupils, motility, visual field, IOP, Color vision.
- Complete refraction of patient.
- Complete eye dilation on patients as applicable.
- Also includes having consent forms signed and helping with lasers and injects in office
- Cleaning instruments and exam rooms
- Maintain and Stock rooms with supplies.
- Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Adheres to organizational policy and procedure.
- Translating for patients if applicable.
- All other duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description:
- Minimum Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED (required)JCAHPO certification and COA/COT (preferred)
- Knowledge of ophthalmic testing (preferred)
- The ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
