Broker Tennessee Steel Haulers | Nashville, TN (Onsite)Tennessee Steel Haulers is seeking a Broker to join our growing team in Nashville, TN. The Broker will play a key role in covering excess and overflow freight, building and maintaining carrier relationships, and identifying new brokerage opportunities. This individual will collaborate closely with our Customer Service and Truck Planning teams to keep freight moving efficiently while delivering outstanding service to customers and carriers alike. This is an onsite position located in Nashville, TN. Remote work is not available.
What You'll Do: Source available trucks from carrier partners and match capacity with customer freight. Post and manage available loads through brokerage platforms and internal systems. Maintain load availability spreadsheets and coordinate updates with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs).Track and trace shipments while providing timely status updates. Conduct outbound and inbound calls to secure carrier coverage for available loads. Onboard new carrier partners and strengthen existing relationships. Collaborate with CSRs to bring available freight to market and increase carrier engagement. Communicate load status, delays, appointment updates, and ETAs to internal teams and customers. Develop and manage a core network of carriers, proactively identifying reload opportunities and maximizing utilization. Build and maintain carrier distribution lists to market available freight throughout the day. Identify and develop new and previously inactive brokerage opportunities.
What We're Looking For: Experience in transportation, logistics, brokerage, dispatch, carrier relations, or a related field. Strong relationship-building and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and transportation management systems is preferred. Self-motivated and customer-focused with a collaborative mindset. Why Tennessee Steel Haulers?
