About the role
- Lead high-quality one-to-one career coaching sessions with experienced professionals.
- Diagnose whether the primary constraint is positioning, access, networking, interview conversion, execution, confidence, or another barrier.
- Turn each session into a focused plan with clear priorities, commitments, and measures of progress.
- Coach clients through networking, outreach, leadership stories, interviews, offer decisions, and the emotional realities of a career transition.
- Review client progress, provide thoughtful follow-up, and identify stalled, disengaged, at-risk, or complex cases early.
- Participate in case review, training, and coaching-quality feedback.
- Contribute insights that strengthen LeaderUP’s tools, playbooks, systems, and client experience. What meaningful success looks like
- Clients leave sessions feeling seen, clearer about what matters, appropriately challenged, and committed to specific actions.
- Coaching addresses the client’s real constraint and creates measurable progress in conversations, interviews, and execution.
- Clients become more capable and self-directed rather than dependent on their coach.
- Preparation, follow-up, communication, and escalations are thoughtful and reliable—and feedback is applied quickly. Who will thrive here You may come from career coaching, executive recruiting, talent leadership, outplacement, leadership development, or a combination of those fields. Your title matters less than your ability to connect deeply, diagnose accurately, and help accomplished people create meaningful change.
- You care deeply and combine empathy with standards. Clients feel supported, but you do not let them hide behind avoidance or vague commitments.
- You understand leadership-level careers. You can credibly coach managers, directors, VPs, and selected executives.
- You see beneath the surface and turn complexity into clarity. You identify the real constraint and focus clients on the actions that matter.
- You value methodology and judgment. You apply LeaderUP’s approach while recognizing when a case needs deeper thought or escalation.
- You want to build something that lasts. You welcome feedback and want to improve the client experience and future coaching team.
- You keep your commitments. Preparation, documentation, responsiveness, and follow-through are part of how you care for clients and teammates. Experience that is especially valuable
- Five or more years across career coaching, executive recruiting, talent leadership, outplacement, leadership development, or related work.
- Demonstrated success coaching experienced professionals through career transitions, leadership advancement, or executive job searches.
- Experience coaching professionals earning $150,000–$300,000+ or pursuing director, VP, and executive roles.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. hiring market, networking-led job search, leadership-level positioning, and interviews.
- Executive recruiting, hiring-manager, ICF, or comparable coaching experience is valuable, but demonstrated effectiveness matters most.
- Availability for recurring U.S. business-hour client sessions and regular team/case-review time. What you will become part of
- A mission with real human impact. Help capable people move through a difficult chapter and toward work that changes what is possible for them and others.
- A thoughtful, high-touch team. You will receive a proven methodology, training, tools, case review, feedback, and support while contributing your own insight.
- Paid work beyond sessions. Required preparation, notes, follow-up, case review, training, and approved client work are compensated.
- A clear path to grow. Strong performers can progress into complex client work, coach mentoring, Lead Career Coach responsibilities, higher compensation, and potentially a full-time leadership role.
- Your resume and LinkedIn profile link.
- A brief note describing the client levels you have coached and your approximate amount of direct career-coaching experience.
- Your weekly availability, preferred client-session windows, and desired hourly rate.
- A 4–6 minute Loom or unlisted YouTube video completing the task below.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
