SUMMARY: Primary functions for this position is preparing correspondence to victims, witnesses, and officers regarding their cases; providing discovery to defense counsel; preparing subpoenas and writs and keeping track of cases set for trials.
ESSSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepares and sends letters to victims, witnesses and officers involved in criminal cases Prepares subpoenas and court notices for trials Disburses discovery in cases to defense attorneys Pulls files for jury trials monthly Updates and monitors jury trial list on monthly basis Prepare writs to bring defendants to court from the Department of Corrections for court appearances Prepares Statement of Facts once a case has been sentenced to the Department of Corrections
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent Strong organizational and administrative skills, detail oriented; excellent time management. Works well with the public Able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately. High level of integrity. Proven track record or reliability and responsibility.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open the filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phone, copy machines, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
