Job Title: Water Resources Project Engineer Job Description We are seeking a stormwater project engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will help grow our water resources department as part of a multi-discipline engineering office with strong public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be well-versed across the water resources discipline with demonstrated design and management experience in stormwater master planning, drainage and stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and permitting with the supporting capabilities to perform various design tasks in the general civil engineering field. This position is ideal for ambitious and motivated candidates searching for career growth.
Responsibilities: Work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Manage multiple design assignments, including proposal development, scope and fee development, project management, and developing/maintaining project schedules. Coordinate with clients, contractors, outside consultants, government agencies, project stakeholders, and other staff from multiple locations and technical disciplines. Manage and execute watershed studies, stormwater master plans, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis (1D/2D modelling), drainage design, stormwater management design, erosion and sedimentation control / NPDES permitting, and design/inspection of traditional and innovative LID infrastructure and SWM BMPs in both urban and rural environments. Perform and manage a variety of water resource-related studies, FEMA Letter of Map Changes, and capital improvement design projects. Provide oversight and effective mentoring of team members. Monitor the scope of work and fees during the project's progress. Essential Skills Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Professional Engineer Registration is required, preferably in Georgia. Minimum 6 years of experience in Water Resources (Stormwater). Experience with AutoCAD, ArcMap, and hydrologic/hydraulic software applications (e.g., ICPR4, HEC-RAS, XPSWMM, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis). Stormwater Management design experience. Hydrologic & Hydraulic Modeling experience. Contract Document preparation, project management experience, cost estimation, and reviewing plans and specifications. Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills and excellent time management skills. Proven ability to multitask, appropriately prioritize workflow, and complete tasks. Client service-oriented, self-starter, and team player. Ability to provide effective engineering solutions. Ability to perform field work including lifting 25 lbs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in Georgia & South Carolina (Preferred not required). Green infrastructure design experience. Erosion and Sediment Control design experience. Work Environment This is an in-office position with 25% travel included. Candidate must be able to work out of any of the offices located in Charleston, Greenville, Nashville, Atlanta, Columbia, and Durham. Must be able to travel and stay in Savannah when required. Work Schedule: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Mon.-Thurs. and 7:30AM - 11:30AM Fri. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $175000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
