Company Overview: A leading alternative investment manager is seeking a Senior Associate, Treasury to join its Chicago-based team. This position offers the opportunity to work across a sophisticated platform supporting multiple investment vehicles and financing structures. The role sits at the intersection of treasury, fund finance, operations, and capital markets, partnering closely with investment professionals, accounting, compliance, and fund operations teams to support liquidity management and strategic financing activities.
Position Overview: The Senior Associate, Treasury will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day fund-level treasury activities, cash management, liquidity planning, debt facility administration, and operational process improvements across a portfolio of investment funds and related entities. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the efficient deployment and management of capital while supporting the firm's continued growth and operational scalability.
Role Responsibilities: Manage daily cash positioning and liquidity needs across investment funds and related entities to support investment activity and ongoing operations. Partner with investment, accounting, fund finance, compliance, and operations teams to coordinate funding requirements and treasury activities. Support and manage various fund financing structures, including subscription credit facilities, securitized debt facilities, and other lending arrangements. Prepare and review borrowing, repayment, and lender communication requests related to fund-level debt facilities. Maintain and reconcile debt balances, interest calculations, principal payments, and financing activity within internal systems. Coordinate treasury-related activities with banking partners, custodians, lenders, and other external counterparties. Manage foreign currency hedging transactions and monitor outstanding hedge positions. Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding cash balances, debt obligations, treasury reporting, and operational activities. Identify opportunities to improve treasury processes, enhance controls, and implement operational efficiencies. Support audits, operational reviews, process documentation, and special projects as needed. Assist in developing and mentoring junior team members while helping maintain a strong operational control environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.5+ years of treasury, fund finance, fund operations, or related alternative investment experience. Experience managing fund-level liquidity and financing activities within private credit, private equity, real estate, or alternative investment platforms. Working knowledge of subscription facilities, securitized debt facilities, credit agreements, and fund borrowing structures. Experience interacting with banking partners, lenders, custodians, and other financial counterparties. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and relationship-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with loan accounting, treasury management, or portfolio management systems is preferred. Demonstrated interest in process improvement, operational scalability, and collaborative problem solving.
