We're seeking an experienced, relationship-driven Retirement Plan Relationship Manager to serve as a trusted advisor to employer-sponsored retirement plans and the employees who participate in them. In this role, you'll work closely with plan sponsors, fiduciaries, and retirement plan participants to deliver exceptional retirement plan consulting, ongoing account management, fiduciary support, and participant education. Success in this position requires a strong understanding of qualified retirement plans, excellent client relationship skills, and a commitment to helping both organizations and individuals navigate important retirement decisions with confidence.
What You'll Do: Serve as the primary relationship manager for employer-sponsored retirement plan clients, building trusted partnerships with plan sponsors, HR teams, and fiduciary committees. Conduct regular client meetings, plan reviews, and strategic discussions to ensure retirement plans remain aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices. Support plan sponsors in fulfilling their ERISA fiduciary responsibilities through investment reviews, plan benchmarking, documentation, and prudent recommendations. Analyze investment lineups, fees, utilization trends, and plan performance; identify opportunities to improve participant outcomes and plan effectiveness. Prepare and present retirement plan reviews, benchmarking reports, fiduciary analyses, and service recommendations. Coordinate with recordkeepers, third-party administrators, investment providers, and internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience. Provide retirement plan guidance and support to individual participants through enrollment meetings, one-on-one consultations, and retirement readiness discussions. Deliver educational workshops, webinars, and participant communication campaigns that help employees make informed decisions about saving and investing for retirement. Assist participants with questions related to investment options, asset allocation, retirement planning strategies, and distribution considerations. Stay current on retirement plan regulations, ERISA requirements, and industry trends that impact both plan sponsors and participants. Contribute to client retention and business growth by deepening existing relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services.
What You Bring: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Active Series 65 license required.3-5+ years of experience working with employer-sponsored retirement plans, retirement plan consulting, investment advisory services, or a related field. Strong knowledge of qualified retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b), and other defined contribution and defined benefit plan structures. Working knowledge of ERISA regulations, fiduciary responsibilities, investment monitoring, and retirement plan governance. Experience presenting to plan committees, executives, HR teams, and retirement plan participants. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret plan data and investment information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex retirement and investment concepts in a clear and approachable manner. A client-first mindset with a focus on responsiveness, relationship management, and long-term partnership development. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with retirement plan administration, reporting, and CRM platforms. Professional designations such as CFP®, CRPS®, AIF®, CFA®, or similar credentials are a plus.
