THIRD-PARTY AGENCIES: PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US REGARDING THIS POSITION.About The Malwin Company The Malwin Company is an aerospace and defense enterprise that brings together specialized engineering, manufacturing, and technology capabilities under one organization. Our teams design, develop, manufacture, and support highly specialized products and solutions for demanding aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. We combine deep technical expertise with shared resources, broader opportunities, and an enterprise-wide approach to growth, creating an environment where specialized teams can do their best work while contributing to a larger mission.
Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and sustain the electrical and electronic systems within analog electromechanical avionics instruments. The role centers on analog circuit design, electromechanical interfaces, hands-on lab and production support for aerospace instrumentation, with responsibility for design documentation, qualification testing, and cross-functional problem solving. All work is performed within an AS9100D-certified quality management system.
Key Responsibilities: Design, analyze, test, and troubleshoot electrical circuits for electromechanical avionics instruments. Work on analog signal conditioning, power conversion, motor drive circuits, resolver/synchro interfaces, sensor interfaces, lighting circuits, and control electronics. Support electrical design for instruments such as altimeters, HSIs, cockpit indicators, gauges, and related aircraft analog instruments. Develop and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, PCB documentation, BOMs, and engineering change documentation. Perform component selection for aerospace-grade applications, including resistors, capacitors, transformers, motors, synchros, resolvers, sensors, connectors, relays, lamps/LEDs, and protection devices. Support integration of electrical assemblies with mechanical systems such as pointer mechanisms, gear trains, motors, dials, lighting assemblies, and instrument housings. Troubleshoot production, qualification, and field-return issues at board, wiring, component, and full-instrument levels. Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, LCR meters, and environmental test equipment. Support qualification, acceptance, and reliability testing, including temperature, vibration, shock, altitude, humidity, EMI/EMC, and electrical performance testing. Develop test procedures, calibration procedures, and engineering reports. Work with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve electrical and electromechanical issues. Mentor junior engineers and technicians as needed. Perform all design, documentation, and test activities in compliance with the company's AS9100D quality management system.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's/Phd a plus).5–10 years of experience in analog circuit design, preferably in aerospace, defense, or precision instrumentation. Strong analog fundamentals: op-amp circuits, feedback and stability analysis, filters, precision references, transformers, and magnetics. Hands-on experience with synchros, resolvers, sensors, motors, and motor drive/servo circuits. Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB documentation tools (KiCad, Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent).Skilled bench engineer: oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, and LCR meters. Experience reading and working from legacy schematics, military specifications, and OEM technical documentation. Strong documentation and communication skills, including test procedures and engineering reports. Working knowledge of digital instruments and analog-to-digital conversion (ADCs, sampling, signal digitization, and mixed-signal interfaces).Eagerness and ability to learn new technologies, tools, and instrument platforms.
Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience with analog flight instruments or instrument repair/overhaul environments. Familiarity with environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing (e.g., RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461) and aircraft power standards (e.g., MIL-STD-704).Knowledge of AS9100D quality systems, configuration management, and ESD program compliance (ANSI/ESD S20.20).Experience supporting defense or aerospace customers and working with government source data, CAGE codes, and NSN sourcing.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
