About the role
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant with 5+ years of experience in project accounting, billing, cost tracking, contract administration, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative environment. Construction industry experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage project accounting and financial support for assigned projects. Set up new projects and maintain project documentation. Review contracts, insurance requirements, and project compliance documents. Prepare accurate customer invoices and support collections activities. Monitor project budgets, costs, revenue recognition, and financial performance. Assist with accounts payable processes, invoice coding, and vendor management. Prepare and submit project-related reports, including certified payroll. Support subcontractor and equipment invoice processing. Identify budget variances and recommend corrective actions. Maintain excellent customer service while working closely with project teams.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in project accounting, billing, finance, or a related field. Strong understanding of contract administration, billing, and financial reporting. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point. Self-motivated team player with strong attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the construction industry. Experience working with union environments. Knowledge of Vista by Viewpoint software. Experience with job costing, subcontractor management, and project budgeting.
