About the role

Essential Functions: Monitor the design department to ensure the department is productive and accounts for BIM/VDC PMs’ & Design Project Leads’ time. Work with BIM/VDC PMs to ensure the design department stays on track with project/workload schedules and provides necessary support to field and prefab. Develop BIM/VDC PMs and design project leads to facilitate BIM/Coordination projects and associated assigned team of designers. Split projects with the Director of BIM/VDC for oversight. For projects responsible check in on BIM/VDC schedules set up by BIM/VDC PMs. Use schedules to track department performance Work with the Director of BIM/VDC on process and procedure improvements with input from designers. Update executive team weekly on VDC/BIM/design department status through weekly construction team meetings, huddles, and executive report when the Director of VDC/BIM is out. Work with sheet metal shop with CAD, CAM, and libraries to ensure good information from design to sheet metal and piping fabrication. Summary of Duties: Assist BIM/VDC PMs and design leads with CAD, Revit, and Fabrication CAD issues. Review drawings prior to them leaving the department in addition to review by Design Lead. Assist Document Control when they are not getting what they need from design leads, designers, project management, and field teams. Act as lead administrator for creating Database Fabparts/CADMEP profiles and requesting Fabparts/CADMEP library content. Give evaluations and review employees in the department for performance each year -BIM/VDC PMs and Project Leads. Review BIM/VDC PM and design and Leadtime weekly for accuracy and issues. Submit bundled department timesheets to payroll. Plan, schedule, and conduct department meetings, training meetings, and lunch-and-learns as needed. Qualifications and Required Skills:
  • Must be able to use MS Word and Excel (Google Docs or Sheets).
  • Must be able to use Google Drive, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Procore
  • Proficient with Google Meet and MS Teams.
  • Proficient with email (Gmail) and calendars.
  • General knowledge of Construction document administration.
