Pay Range: $55–$65/hr HIRING: Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Controls Designer We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Controls Designer to support projects for a leading energy and utility organization in Southern California This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced I&C/Electrical Designer who enjoys being hands-on, owning design assignments, and working on critical infrastructure projects.
Location: Los Angeles, CA — Primarily Remote Contract:2 Years Pay:$55–$65/hr
Industry: Energy / Utility / Industrial Potential for local field/site visits as needed What You'll Be Doing • Develop electrical, instrumentation & controls designs for industrial and utility projects • Design field instrumentation, control panels, wiring and electrical connections • Develop and modify schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and instrument connection drawings • Work with PLC/control-system signals and connections between field instrumentation and control systems • Read and interpret P&IDs and translate process requirements into detailed designs • Support equipment including transmitters, sensors, control valves and actuators • Perform field/site verification and incorporate existing conditions into design changes • Collaborate with engineers, project managers and field teams throughout the project lifecycle What We're Looking For • 7+ years of hands-on Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls design experience • Experience in utility, Oil & Gas, industrial, process or similar environments • Strong knowledge of PLC-based control systems and instrumentation • Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs • Experience with control panels, instrument wiring, schematics and electrical drawings • Knowledge of NEC and applicable NFPA/electrical standards • Ability to independently take ownership of design assignments from beginning to completion Nice to Have • AutoCAD experience • AVEVA experience • Revit, EPLAN, Micro Station or other comparable design platforms • Natural gas / pipeline / utility project experience AutoCAD is preferred, but not required strong electrical/I&C designers with experience using other design platforms are encouraged to apply.
