Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees.What You'll Be Doing* Scale loose rock from underground mine walls and ceilings to maintain safe working conditions* Operate scaling equipment and tools safely and efficiently in confined spaces* Conduct routine inspections of work areas to identify and address potential hazards* Perform basic equipment checks and communicate maintenance needs* Collaborate with team members to support safe and productive quarry operationsWhat Are We Looking For* Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively in underground environments* Strong safety mindset with the capability to recognize and mitigate hazards* Ability to follow procedures, communicate clearly, and work as part of a team* Mechanical aptitude and comfort performing basic equipment inspections* Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in physically demanding conditionsConditions of Employment* Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check* Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testingWork Environment* Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levelWhat We Offer* $28.76 per hour plus an additional $0.50 per hour underground rate* Benefits through the Union for Medical, Dental, Vision and Pension* Union paid vacation, sick leave and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Female / Veteran / Disabled
