About the Role:
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to protect the company's infrastructure and data from evolving cyber threats. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities, developing countermeasures, and ensuring the resilience of our systems. Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
Develop and implement security automation to streamline security operations and incident response processes.
Conduct security architecture reviews and provide recommendations for hardening systems and networks.
Perform regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis to identify and remediate risks.
Respond to security incidents, conduct forensic investigations, and document findings and remediation steps.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle and infrastructure deployments.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a similar role.
Strong proficiency in security technologies, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
Experience with cloud security principles and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of common security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, CIS Controls) and threat modeling.
Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and strong communication abilities for a remote team.
