Role Description:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Rep is a full-time, on-site role based in the lower Hudson Valley, NY. Potential locations include New Paltz, Yorktown, Pleasantville, Beacon and Grahamsville, NY. This role is responsible for monitoring workplace conditions, conducting regular safety and environmental inspections, and documenting findings to support compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. The EHS Rep will deliver safety training and education (tooklbox talks and orientations) to employees, communicate EHS expectations clearly, and support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions. Daily activities include collaborating with operations and construction management teams, updating safety procedures and records, and assisting in the implementation of risk-reduction initiatives and emergency response plans. The role requires an proficient use of computer programs, strong attention to detail, consistent presence in the field, and a commitment to fostering a safe and healthy work environment.
Qualifications:
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) knowledge and experience, including regulatory awareness and practical application in workplace settings. Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey safety information clearly to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Training and facilitation skills, including experience developing and delivering safety and compliance training programs. Inspection and auditing capabilities, with experience conducting safety walkthroughs, documenting findings, and following up on corrective actions. Must have completed the following training: OSHA-30 in the past 5 years, RCRA/DOT Haz Mat, Confined Space Entry, Fall Prevention and Protection, lockout tagout. Between 5-10 years of construction safety on a project site. We also have an opening for work near or on a railway system which requires track safety training, Right of Way experience (NYC Transit), flagging, completion of the 40-hour afety Manager Cours, 30-Hour OSHA training. Demonstration safety experience as the head of safety in a railway project. Both a day shift and a night shift are needed. The work is in the lower Hudson Valley NYCapacity to work in Hudson Valley, NY, including standing, walking inspections, and responding promptly to safety concerns.
