About the role
Our client, a growing Northern Illinois manufacturer of custom-engineered building systems, is adding an experienced CAD Detailer / Designer to its engineering team. Business is strong, the company has a healthy backlog, and they are ready to hire. This is a hands-on role creating the 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and manufacturing documentation that turn engineered building concepts into finished products.
What You'll Do:
- Create 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
- Produce fabrication, assembly and installation drawings using Inventor and AutoCADCreate and maintain BOMs and manufacturing documentation
- Manage drawings, revisions and product data using Autodesk VaultWork closely with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and project teams
- Support DFM/DFA, engineering changes and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of CAD design/detailing experienceStrong Autodesk Inventor experienceStrong AutoCAD experience
- Autodesk Vault experience
- Experience creating production-ready drawings and BOMsManufacturing experience with structural steel, building systems, architectural products, metal fabrication or similar engineered products strongly preferredERP/MRP familiarity
- Detail-oriented, self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment

This position is onsite five days per week in Harvard, Illinois. Local candidates within commuting distance are required. No remote or hybrid option.
