Role Description: This is a part-time, on-site Patternmaker/Fitter/Seamstress role based in Miami, FL. The role involves developing and adjusting patterns, conducting fittings, and not required but recommneded sewing sample and final garments to meet design and fit specifications. Daily tasks include measuring clients or models, translating design sketches into patterns, making alterations based on fit sessions, and ensuring high-quality construction and finishing. The Patternmaker/Fitter/Seamstress will collaborate closely with the designer and other team members to maintain consistent sizing, fit standards, and production timelines, while keeping the workspace organized and equipment in good working order.
Qualifications: Strong garment fitting skills, including accurate measuring, pinning, draping, and communicating fit adjustments. Proficiency in pattern design and pattern making, including drafting, grading, and modifying patterns from sketches or samples. Advanced sewing skills, including operating industrial and domestic machines, hand finishing, and constructing garments to professional standards. Knowledge of different fabrics, garment construction techniques, and fit standards across sizes. Ability to follow technical specifications, work from design briefs, and maintain attention to detail under deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with the designer, clients, and on-site team members.
