About the role
A private family investment office is seeking a senior investment professional to establish and lead its U.S. investment presence. The family office is seeking to expand relationships with leading private equity, growth equity, venture capital and technology investment firms across the United States and Europe. The successful candidate will act as a senior representative of the family office in the U.S. investment community and will be responsible for developing institutional-quality relationships, sourcing differentiated opportunities and evaluating investments on behalf of the family.
Responsibilities:
Represent the family office with investment managers, private equity firms, venture and growth investors, family offices, investment banks, founders and other market participants. Build and maintain senior relationships with leading U.S. and European private-market investment firms. Source opportunities across private equity funds, venture/growth funds, co-investments, direct investments, secondaries and special situations. Develop a high-quality network within the AI and technology investment ecosystem. Proactively identify opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound deal flow. Evaluate investment opportunities and prepare concise recommendations for the family office. Coordinate commercial, financial, legal and technical due diligence. Negotiate investment terms, allocation and co-investment opportunities alongside advisers and counsel. Attend LP meetings, annual meetings, conferences and industry events on behalf of the family. Develop relationships with other sophisticated family offices and institutional investors for information sharing and potential co-investment. Monitor existing manager relationships and portfolio investments. Maintain a disciplined investment pipeline and relationship-management process. Provide regular reporting to the family covering opportunities, manager relationships, market developments and recommendations.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have approximately 10+ years of relevant investment experience gained within one or more of: Single-family or sophisticated multi-family office Private equity or growth equity Institutional LP / endowment / foundation Private markets investment management Investment banking or private-capital advisory UHNW investment platform Candidates should demonstrate: Strong existing relationships across the U.S. private equity, growth and venture ecosystem Experience evaluating private-market funds and/or direct investments Excellent investment judgment Ability to operate independently without a large institutional infrastructure Location & Travel The position will be remote with regular travel to New York, San Francisco, Austin, Toronto and other investment centers will be expected. Compensation Highly competitive base salary, annual performance incentive and potential long-term participation aligned with investment performance and the growth of the family’s investment platform.
