About the role
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages new device development projects from development through transfer to production. Works with the product management group to define and specify device technology requirements to support company's product development roadmap Designs and simulates epitaxial structures to meet device performance targets, works closely with the epi engineering group to develop, procure and test the epi designs Works closely with the process integration team to define new unit process requirements and targets, design/integrate wafer fab process flows Defines and creates test structures and layouts to fabricate and characterize new device technologies and demonstrate margin for volume manufacturing Performs DC, small signal RF and optical testing and characterization of devices, setup test plan, collects and analyzes data Works with the quality group to define and meet reliability requirements for new devices Works with product engineering groups to assess performance of device at product level and make improvements as needed Creates documentation required to transfer the design to manufacturing including all design verification data, corner studies and test plans Works with the device modeling group to create device models required for simulation and development of new products Participates in on-going continuous yield/performance improvement efforts
Education & Experience:
Minimum M.S. in electrical engineering or related field with 5 years of relevant job experience Ph. D. in Electrical engineering or related field is preferred with 2 years of relevant job experience Deep knowledge and understanding of III-V semiconductor devices and materials: physics, TCAD simulation, fab process, testing, modeling Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Product Lifecycle Management processes Experience of working within cross-functional teams successfully, interacting with a broad range of functions, skills, cultures, and personalities. Skills Previous experience as an engineer in III-V electronics and RF R&D. In-depth understanding of all aspects of III-V electronic device design. Familiarity with DC, small signal RF and optical testing and characterization of devices Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and risk management skills. Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills. Highly self-motivated with a strong multi-disciplinary background is essential.
