Associate, Compensation & Firm Economics Global Hedge Fund | New York, NY | Onsite 3 days per weekABOUT THE ROLEOur client, a leading global hedge fund, is adding an Associate to its Management Reporting team, part of Financial Operations. The team gives senior leadership the analysis behind major decisions, with a focus on compensation and firm economics. Firm economics here means the financials of the management company itself, not the funds it manages. The seat mixes hands-on operational work with analytical projects and offers visibility across the whole firm. WHAT YOU’ LL DOThe work splits between recurring operational processes and analysis that reaches senior leadership. Keep core processes running: recurring reporting, accounting, and compensation work, plus reconciliations and data preparation Analyze the numbers: variance analysis, trend reporting, and compensation modeling that inform planning and business decisions Deliver executive-ready insight: turn analysis into clear materials for the firm’s senior leaders Improve how the work gets done: a hands-on role in the team’s generative AI, automation, and process improvement initiativesWHAT YOU BRINGRequiredBachelor’s degree or higher, with a strong academic and professional track record 2+ years of finance, accounting, operations, or similar experience Strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting Comfort moving between operational and analytical work Close attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to learn quickly Clear communication and project management skills; you stay accurate and composed when volume is high, transactions get complex, and priorities compete Good judgment and a habit of anticipating what the team and stakeholders need Integrity and sound discretion with sensitive information
Nice to have: Exposure to compensation processes, accounting workflows, or operational reporting Interest in using AI and automation to improve everyday work
