About the role

The City of Midland is looking for a dedicated and professional Municipal Court Security Officer to help ensure the safety, order, and integrity of our court operations. Reporting to the Presiding Municipal Judge, you’ll be on the front line of courtroom security, monitoring holding cells and cameras, managing access, and supporting judges and staff during daily proceedings. This role goes beyond just security. You'll serve as a key liaison between the public, court staff, and law enforcement partners, helping to create a respectful, well-managed environment where justice can be served efficiently and safely. If you're a certified Texas Peace Officer with strong communication skills, good judgment, and a calm approach to handling high-stress situations, we want to hear from you. Be the presence that keeps justice secure — May be exposed to possibly dangerous criminals on a daily basis. May be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals and diseases. Must have the ability to work in seasonal temperatures. Sufficient physical strength and stamina to bend, run, lift and crawl into small spaces and to restrain suspects. Ability to effectively communicate with the Presiding Judge, Associate Judges, Court Administrator, Municipal Court staff, citizens, attorneys and other law enforcement agencies to exchange information and ensure Court security. Exceptional skill required handling citizens in delicate situations with tact and diplomacy both on the phone and in person. A high school

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
