About the role

We are looking for a motivated Power BI / SQL Intern to support our ongoing reporting and dashboard development work. This role is ideal for someone who is developing strong technical skills and wants hands-on experience building data models, writing SQL, and creating dashboards used by business stakeholders using PowerBI. The intern will work closely with our DevOps team to prepare data, build visualizations, and support ongoing reporting needs. The intern will be mentored by senior team members and is not expected to have expert-level knowledge in all areas listed. *Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.* *Additional compensations based on licensure.* Note: These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. Data preparation & transformation for reporting datasets Writing SQL queries to support dashboards, KPIs, and data analysis Assisting with views, stored procedures, and basic ETL logic Learning and applying DAX measures to support KPIs and business reporting Building and refining Power BI dashboards, including visuals, layouts, and interactions QA testing and data validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability Creating and maintaining documentation, data dictionaries, and version-controlled updates Additional Duties Performs other related work as required. In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties and work varying schedules. Candidates must be currently enrolled at a local college or university and working toward a bachelor's degree, master's degree, certificate, or equivalent credential in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Experience with Power BI (visualizations, report development, and DAX basics), PL300 Certification or working towards one is a plus. Understanding of data visualization principles. Foundational understanding of relational databases and SQL, including SELECT statements, JOINs, filtering, and grouping. Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and learn new technologies. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and willingness to learn. Must be able to learn new concepts quickly and resolve complex technical problems effectively. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize and prioritize tasks successfully. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license.
