EHS Manager Electronic Recyclers International (ERI) | Plainfield, Indiana | Full-Time, Onsite Lead safety where it matters most: on the floor. ERI is the largest fully integrated electronics recycler and IT asset disposition (ITAD) provider in the United States. We serve corporate and government clients nationwide, and our Indiana facility is looking for a hands-on EHS Manager to own safety and environmental compliance for the site. This is a leadership role for someone who would rather be walking the floor with operators than sitting behind a desk.
What You'll Do: • Own the site safety program: develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and training for a fast-paced processing and warehouse environment.• Keep us compliant: maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Indiana state (IOSHA / IDEM) requirements, including recordkeeping, permits, and required reporting.• Prevent incidents: lead hazard assessments, JSAs, and routine safety audits covering powered industrial trucks, machine guarding, LOTO, material handling, and ergonomics.• Investigate and fix: lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to closure.• Train the team: deliver new-hire and ongoing safety training, and build a culture where every employee owns safety.• Manage environmental programs: oversee waste handling, storage, and documentation for electronic and universal waste streams.• Support audits: partner with operations and compliance teams to prepare for internal, customer, and certification audits.• Report results: track and report safety KPIs (TRIR, DART, near misses, leading indicators) to site and corporate leadership.
What You Bring: • 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, recycling, waste management, warehousing, or logistics• 2+ years in a lead, supervisory, or management EHS role• Strong working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards (29 CFR 1910) and EPA regulations• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)• Experience leading incident investigations and building corrective action plans• Confident trainer and communicator who can connect with frontline employees and senior leaders alike• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with EHS management software a plus Nice to Have• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field• CSP, ASP, CHST, or CHMM certification• Experience with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 management systems• Background in electronics recycling, scrap metal, or universal / hazardous waste handling
