Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal OR Sr. Principal Computer Systems Architect to act as the computer hardware discipline lead within the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Site 3 program (DS3). As the computer hardware discipline lead you will be a key member of the team responsible for proposing, designing and implementing the hardware baseline of several compute environments required for DS3. This role will initially support the DS3 proposal efforts with the expectation that you will transition into a technical lead once DS3 is awarded. DS3 execution includes design milestones (i.e., SRR, PDR, CDR) and the establishment of the computer system hardware baseline that will meet operational requirements for the system. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundational knowledge of computer systems (i.e., hardware components, applications, operating systems), experience with bid and proposal processes, and be able to collaboratively apply systems engineering principles to successfully define, document, and delivery the computer systems required for DS3.Job Duties Include:Collaborating with Program Management on DS3 proposal strategies and estimation methodologyDeveloping the DS3 computer system infrastructure proposal engineering bill of material (BOM).Developing DS3 labor Basis of Estimates (BOE's).Establishing road maps and execution timelines.Upon award provide technical leadership within the Compute Integrated Product Team (IPT).Overseeing the development and documentation of the computer system hardware architecture.Overseeing the development of component specifications and procurement requirements.Overseeing and managing the engineering technical baseline.Determine systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security.Coordinates the design of compute subsystems and integration of the total systemIdentify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies.Develop and recommend corrective actions.Interface and collaborate with system administrators, database managers, and software developers.Briefing Northrop Grumman and Space Force leadership.Basic QualificationsActive DoD Secret clearance at the time of applicationPrincipal: 5 years of experience with a Bachelors in Science, 3 years of experience with a Masters in Science degree, OR 1 year of experience with a PhDSr. Principal: 8 years of experience with a Bachelors in Science, 6 years of experience with a Masters in Science degree, OR 2 years of experience with a PhDExperience with the proposal development processExperience developing labor BOE's and material BOM'sExperience with Cost Plus and Fix Price contractsExperience with requirements decomposition and derivation down to hardware subsystem level and hardware component level specificationsExperience designing and maintaining computer system environments running RedHat LinuxFamiliar with a broad set of commercial hardware system components (i.e., servers, switches, routers, network attached storage)Experience with Atlassian tool sets (JIRA, Confluence)Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering principlesAbility to travel up to 10% domesticallyPreferred QualificationsFamiliar with HPE High Performance Computing platformsFamiliar with computer virtualizationVMware product experience (i.e., vCenter, vSphere, NSX, Tanzu, Avi Load Balancer)Experience with network design, configuration, and managementRedHat Certified (System Admin or Engineer)CompTIA Security + CertificationCompTIA Network + CertificationVMware Data Center CertificationVMware Network Virtualization CertificationExperience working within CAMEOExperience with Engineering Drawings and Electronic Bill of Materials that drive procurement demandsPrimary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
