About the role

Position Overview In this pivotal role, you will lead the charge in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization’s information technology systems. You will create a robust computing infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cybersecurity. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Design, implementation, and maintenance: Oversee the end-to-end process of designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization’s IT systems, and develop a solid computing infrastructure to efficiently accomplish key tasks. Expert‑level technical support: Provide expert‑level support for complex technical issues related to servers, hardware, and software systems; act as the final escalation point for challenging technical issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions. Equipment maintenance and repair: Take charge of maintaining and repairing technology equipment, including PCs, printers, phones, audio‑video systems, and more. System configuration and security: Execute operating system installations, upgrades, configurations, and security patch deployments using enterprise software distribution platforms. Utilize monitoring tools and dashboards to continuously monitor systems for availability, capacity, and performance. Leadership and mentorship: Lead and mentor other members of the technical support team, providing guidance and knowledge transfer, and foster a collaborative and growth‑oriented team environment. Requirements Preferred university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5 years of proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role. In‑depth knowledge of systems engineering principles and best practices. Strong experience with server administration, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), V‑SAN, backup & recovery software, device policy management with Azure/Intune, and cloud services. Scripting or programming skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python). Expertise in desktop operating systems, Active Directory, and productivity applications. Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills in English. Certification in relevant technologies will be considered a strong advantage. ITIL certification preferred. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role. Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering principles and best practices. Demonstrated expertise in server administration, virtualization, backup & recovery, scripting, and cloud services. Proficiency in desktop operating systems, Active Directory, and productivity applications. Understanding of internet security and data privacy principles. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Relevant certifications in technologies will enhance candidacy.
