About the role
OR TechUnder direct supervision, the OR Tech supports the department of Surgical Services in the provision of patient care by the coordination of surgical instrumentation and performance of scrub technologist activities. Responsibilities include providing organizational, communication and assistive skills necessary to facilitate the flow of surgical services activities, ensuring availability and proper maintenance of instrumentation and surgical supplies, adhering to principles of asepsis and policies and procedures, demonstrating knowledge of surgical procedures and providing support to patients, visitors, physicians, staff and ancillary personnel. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center and AHMC Inc. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values of AHMC- ARMC and AHMC Inc. The employee shall support AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center's strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to; Customer Service, Patient's Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and AHMC Inc initiatives.
Qualifications
Education/Training/Experience:
- A minimum of one year related experience in an acute surgical setting preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program, military training program or equivalent formal training program required.
- Expertise with instrument processing and asepsis.
- Knowledge of sterility standards, AAMI and AORN.Licenses/Certifications
- Current BLS-HCPCurrent certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
