About the role

About Altera: At AlteraTM our independence as the world's largest pure‐play FPGA solutions provider gives us the focus, speed, and agility to innovate without compromise. With more than four decades of industry‐leading FPGA expertise, our singular mission is to deliver programmable technologies that help customers differentiate, innovate, and scale across rapidly evolving markets such as AI, cloud, networking, and edge.
About the Role: As a Principal NoC IP Micro‐Architect, you will lead the end‐to‐end architecture, microarchitecture, RTL design, and technical leadership of scalable NoC IP solutions integrated into Altera's next‐generation FPGA platforms. You will collaborate with architecture, design, verification, software, physical design, and product teams to deliver high‐performance interconnect solutions optimized for power, performance, area, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities: Develop logic design, RTL coding, and simulation for Network on Chip IPs and other FPGA IPs/subsystems for integration into full chip designs. Participate in defining the architecture and microarchitecture features of the block being designed. Create prototypes, simulate models, specify system requirements, and deliver software models for device‐level bring‐up, including user‐visible functionality, timing, and power. Apply RTL implementation techniques to qualify designs to meet power, performance, and area goals, partnering with the physical implementation team. Use advanced EDA tools (timing constraints, verification, RTL lint, CDC, RDC, DFT) to ensure high‐quality IP development and automate processes to enhance efficiency. Review verification plans and implementations, resolve errors, and implement corrective measures for failing RTL tests to ensure feature correctness. Mentor junior team members, oversee the NoC team, and proactively identify and mitigate design challenges to meet project requirements and schedule. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
