About the role

Farther is a rapidly growing RIA that combines expert advisors with cutting-edge technology - delivering a comprehensive, tailored wealth management experience. Farther’s founders are leaders and innovators from the private wealth industry who possess a unique blend of traditional wealth management, fintech, and technology production expertise. We’re backed by top-tier venture capital firms, fintech investors, and industry leaders. Joining Farther means joining a collaborative team of entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping their clients and our teammates achieve more. If you’re the type who breaks through walls to get things done the right way, we want to build the future of wealth management with you.
The Role: As an Agentic Engineer at Farther, you will build agentic solutions that change how our business runs. You will work with Farther's proprietary data model and our many vendor integrations to design, ship and run AI agents that take on real operational work in a regulated wealth management environment. This is not a build-it-and-hand-it-off role. You will sit with operations teams, advisors and other business partners to understand how they actually work. You will find the few features that decide whether a tool gets adopted, and you will turn them into scalable, well-built systems. Then you will own the rollout: monitoring, integrations, user training and ongoing iteration until the solution is a trusted part of how Farther works. You need both sound engineering and architectural judgment and real business judgment: knowing what to build, what to leave out, and what "done" means to the people using it.
Your Impact:
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to find high‑value workflows and turn their needs into clear, prioritized agentic solutions
  • Design and build production agents that reason over and act on Farther's data model and vendor integrations (custodians, CRM, planning and other third‑party systems)
  • Make architectural decisions that favor scalable, strategic solutions over one‑off fixes, using strong software engineering practices (testing, code review, CI/CD, infrastructure as code)
  • Build and maintain the integrations that connect agents to internal services and external vendor platforms
  • Own production readiness: set up monitoring, alerting, logging and evaluation so agent behavior is observable, reliable and safe
  • Lead complex rollouts to business‑facing users
  • Train and support users so they can confidently use agentic tools in their daily work
  • Track adoption and business impact, and feed what you learn from real usage back into the product roadmap
  • Set guardrails and access controls suited to a regulated financial environment
  • The Ideal Match 5+ years of professional Software engineering experience using Python, SQL, HTTP, AWSA track record of designing systems that scale
  • Hands‑on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, and a workflow built around using them effectively

  • Deep understanding of cloud and serverless architectures (AWS Bedrock AgentCore preferred). Alternates include GCP, Vertex AI Agent Builder, Azure AI Foundry and LangGraph Cloud / Crew AIExperience supporting Operations functions and teams
  • A strong ownership mindset: you care about adoption and outcomes, not just shipping code
  • Strong business judgment: you can separate the must‑have features from the nice‑to‑haves and explain the tradeoffs clearly
  • Experience working one‑on‑one with demanding users and turning their feedback into product decisions
  • A history of carrying complex, business‑facing applications through rollout, not just building them
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical audiences

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
