Private Event and Wedding Sales Manager The Dominion Club | Glen Allen, Virginia
Compensation: $65,000–$70,000 annual earning range, including hourly compensation, commission, overtime during peak wedding season, and potential additional incentives The Dominion Club is seeking an energetic and organized Private Event and Wedding Sales Manager to join our team in Glen Allen, Virginia. Reporting to and working closely with the Private Events Director, this position serves as the #2 within the Private Events department, supporting the sales, planning, coordination, and execution of weddings, social events, corporate functions, golf outings, and other special events. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and events, strong sales and organizational skills, and enjoys working directly with clients to create memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Private Events Director in achieving wedding, catering, and private event sales goals. Respond to event inquiries, conduct venue tours, prepare proposals, and follow up with prospective clients. Assist with the sales and coordination of weddings, social events, corporate functions, golf outings, and other private events. Work directly with clients throughout the planning process, including timelines, menus, room layouts, vendor coordination, and event details. Coordinate with culinary, food and beverage, golf, and operations teams to ensure successful event execution. Prepare and maintain contracts, banquet event orders, timelines, and client files. Identify opportunities to enhance events through food and beverage and other Club offerings. Assist with wedding rehearsals and provide onsite support for weddings and other significant events. Build strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals. Participate in 1–2 off-property bridal expos per year. Partner with the Private Events Director to host one Club wedding showcase per year and one corporate client and member event open house per year. Support additional Private Events sales and marketing initiatives as needed.
Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in catering sales, wedding sales, event planning, hospitality, or a related field preferred. Wedding and social event experience strongly preferred. Private club, hotel, resort, catering, or upscale hospitality experience is a plus. Strong sales, relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple clients, events, and deadlines. Professional, polished, and comfortable working directly with members, clients, vendors, and internal teams. Collaborative, flexible, and comfortable working closely with the Private Events Director. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn event management and CRM systems. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak event seasons.
