About the role
- Essential Position Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspection of materials, components, and sub-assemblies from external suppliers in accordance with BIW drawings, specifications, and quality control plans
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of parts and assemblies produced by BIW Operations
- Maintain and update quality data within SAP ERP, QA test databases, and other applicable systems
- Document product and process nonconformances using SAP Quality Notifications
- Ensure all inspection records and documentation are accurate, complete, and legible in accordance with established standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical diploma preferred1–2 years of hands-on experience in inspection and testing, or equivalent technical training
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&TProficient in basic mathematics (arithmetic, geometry, and trigonometry)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience auditing work orders, test data, and material certifications preferredU.S. Citizenship required
