About the role

Lawrence Doors, Inc., a leader in the commercial door industry and a part of Amarr / ASSA ABLOY Group, is seeking a manufacturing drafter with some electrical knowledge, preferably from the commercial and industrial door field, to work at our manufacturing plant in Baldwin Park. The candidate must be dependable, mechanical, able to read dimensions and use a tape measure. The candidate must possess a positive and helpful attitude, be self‐motivated, with knowledge in metal fabrication and manufacturing process understanding, and experience with SolidWorks, DraftSight or similar computer programs. Mechanical engineering experience preferred. We are looking for someone who can help us grow and improve. Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience with SolidWorks in a production environment
  • Ability to multitask and work on a range of projects
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Mathematics and measurement skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in a production metal‐working or field work environment
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks modeling of parts, assemblies, and drawings
  • Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Junior college – technical focus, trade school or engineering
