About the role
We have a backlog of over 1,280 businesses who have signed up for Titus but we haven’t been able to reach out to and help them get set up. Why? Because Titus has no sales team. We have two customer success managers and they are underwater helping to grow the accounts they already work with. Now our backlog is growing even faster as we’ve expanded the Titus footprint and started marketing for the first time. Our constraint here isn't demand or product market fit. It's hours in the day. This is why we are now hiring our first Account Executive. We need someone to come in and sit next to Nick, our CEO and turn inbound businesses into activated customers that can be handed to Success. What Titus isTitus is the payments platform built for real estate. Photographers, stagers and other listing prep businesses use Titus as their checkout. Agents and homeowners pay through it any way they want, including pay at close, where the cost is deferred until the home sells but the merchant still gets paid instantly. We run about 11,000 transactions a month, close to 1 in 30 US home sales, all from word of mouth. Revenue is up more than 4x year over year. We're live on five of the software platforms photographers and stagers already run their businesses on, soon eight, and we’re backed by Sequoia and Andreessen Horowitz.
What you'll do:
- Call the 1,280 businesses and figure out what is standing in their way from running their first transaction
- Turn what you learn into a repeatable motion. Segments, messaging, sequences, all represented in Hubspot so it can be repeatable
- Own it full cycle. Activation, cold outbound, and handoffs from our platform partners
- Keep product informed about what's blocking your activation efforts
Must haves:
- You started as an SDR or BDR and were good enough that someone gave you a closing number
- Very comfortable with a phone and a cold list
- Unusually resourceful at getting a hold of decision makers and figuring things out without being told how
- Clear, structured thinker who makes judgement calls that are mostly right
- Willing to be in Mill Valley, CA 2 days per week
- HelpsFintech, payments or SMB sales
- You've been early at a startup before
- What you will not have
- An SDR feeding you
- A playbook
- Long sales cycles
- A sales manager
- Compensation$100k base
- EquityHealth, dental, vision
- Coworking space for the days you're not in Mill Valley
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
