Position Summary: The Business Development Manager is responsible for assisting with managing the sales cycle from start to finish, including managing contract negotiations and obtaining a final sign-off. Assisting with managing staff and setting expectations for metrics and goals that align with the company. Key responsibilities include coordinating onboarding, taking the lead on new client communications, developing, and implementing a strategic program for marketing initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Review and organize contracts for existing and incoming clients Manage the pipeline of prospective clients General awareness of the political landscape with an emphasis on Federal and State politics Lead pitch meetings, review background briefers to relevant teams Review of proposals and contracts for incoming clients Build and manage internal relationships with the client services and support teams Coordinate with client services teams on proposed client pricing Ensure that business development strategies are aligned with annual organizational goals and targets Participate in weekly revenue meetings and report all revenue additions and removals Weekly check in meetings to track progress to goals Assist with some onboarding responsibilities Oversee the development department staff in fulfilling their responsibilities. Help the team when they need support and can teach them when they need to learn new tasks. Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Political Science, or related field 1–3 years of experience working on campaigns, developing staff, negotiating contracts, and building teams Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, CRM systems, and SaaS platforms such as Salesforce Self-starter with proven ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of management Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Detail-oriented with strong analytical and technical abilities Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing demands Must be ethical, value integrity, and be able to pass a background check Enjoy working closely with others of diverse backgrounds and personalities Core Values: Deliver excellent services Support colleagues Support company objectives Support the company's community involvement Compensation Package: Salary: $75,000-$90,000 per year Medical, dental and vision insurance 100% covered by MBA STD and Life Insurance covered by MBA LTD 401k after 90 days with a 4% match Participation in the Employee Sponsored Ownership Plan after working 1 year and 1000 hours 11 paid holidays and an additional floating holiday Paid Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation during year 1, 4 weeks of paid vacation starting year 3, 5 weeks of paid vacation starting year 5 12 sick days per year 8 paid volunteer hours annually $150 per month home office stipend Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit or stand for the workday duration (full-time, 40 hours per week subject to increase during an election "on" year and during filing and tax periods involving evenings and weekends).
