Position Summary
The General Ledger Accountant will be a key contributor to the finance department. You will support the month-end close process, general ledger maintenance, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, assist in client invoicing and accounts receivable tasks, and process improvement/automation efforts. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses
Maintain and update the general ledger: review, clean up and monitor account balances, sub‑ledger tie‑outs, and ensure accurate recording of transactions
Prepare expense accruals, prepaid expense amortizations, and other routine accounting estimates
Assist with client and partner invoicing and accounts receivable management, including aging, collections support, and reconciliation
Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager to ensure all accounting policies and procedures are adhered to and help identify opportunities for process automation and improvement
Assist in implementing and maintaining a high-quality ERP environment (Sage Intacct) including support for modules tied to GL, A/R, A/P and reporting workflows
Support audit activities by preparing schedules, responding to inquiry, and ensuring documentation is complete and accurate
Work cross‑functionally with operations, sales, finance systems, and project teams to gather data, ensure alignment of accounting entries, and improve controls
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience and general ledger duties
Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets
Solid understanding of GAAP, with experience in month‑end close and reconciliations
Experience with Sage Intacct or other mid‑market ERP systems preferred
Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced and evolving environment
Ability to drive process improvements and adopt automation or best‑practice workflows
