EA Talent Solutions has been engaged by an established utility and heavy civil infrastructure contractor—a major New York metropolitan-area firm serving both private-sector clients and New York City municipal agencies—to recruit an experienced Estimator for their operation in the Bronx, NY.This is an excellent onsite opportunity for a seasoned estimator who knows heavy civil work inside and out and can move confidently from blueprints to a defensible number. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-driven, and thrives in a high-volume bidding environment. This is a “doer” role for someone who enjoys owning takeoffs and cost analysis end to end and wants to make a direct impact on which jobs the firm wins.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. Analyze information, plan approach, and report research results to support accurate, competitive bids. Prepare estimates for projects across both the private sector and NYC municipal agencies. Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and leadership throughout the bid process.
Qualifications: 8–15 years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction. Experience estimating for both private-sector clients and NYC municipalities. Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project/Primavera. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret plans, specs, and related documents. Works well with others and communicates clearly across teams. Comfortable working onsite, full-time; strong attendance and physical presence expected. Compensation Base salary range of $160,000 - $180,000, depending on experience.
