Position Overview: Global Action on Gun Violence (GAGV) is an innovative non-profit working with countries and people around the world to reduce the global harm from guns in the U.S. and abroad, by using litigation, human rights, education, and advocacy. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive professional to lead the organization’s development efforts. This role is ideal for a creative self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. This is a unique opportunity to be an important part of a cutting-edge, trailblazing team addressing one of the most damaging public health crises facing the U.S. and the world. We are searching for someone passionate about the mission of reforming the gun industry and reducing gun violence. This development position will lead the organization’s fundraising and stewardship efforts. The position’s primary responsibilities will be to direct, oversee and implement the strategic development plan, and assist with donor data management, donor communications, and funder research. The position requires broad and successful fundraising experience, clear writing skills, attention to details, and a commitment to learn the organization’s mission and priorities.

Location: Washington DC – hybrid or remote work possible
Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategy and Implementation Lead GAGV in implementing a broad fundraising strategy that includes: Identifying and securing new foundation support Ensuring continued support from our current funders and overseeing grants and renewals New major and small dollar donor identification, cultivation and growth 2. Research & Prospect Development Conduct research on foundations, prospective major donors and corporations. Track grant deadlines and assist with developing grant-related materials. Prepare concise profiles and briefing materials for leadership. 3. Events Support Assist with planning and execution of fundraising and stewardship events. Coordinate logistics such as registration, materials, and follow-up. Provide on-site support during events. 4. Board Support Support board members’ fundraising efforts including events and correspondence.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. Five years of fundraising experience preferred. Strong writing and editing skills. Comfortable working with data and attention to detail. Familiarity with CRM systems (experience welcome; online training provided). Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Interest in the mission of reducing gun violence globally. Professionalism, discretion, and a collaborative working style.
Working Conditions: Offsite working environment Occasional evening or weekend hours for events.
