Desktop & Field IT Support Specialist Location: Battle Ground, WA Duration: 1-Year Contract Work Arrangement: Onsite Travel: Approximately 20% to regional field offices, including Eugene, OR; Tri-Cities; Seattle; Eastern Washington; and other locations as needed.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Desktop & Field IT Support Specialist for a 1-year onsite contract in Battle Ground, WA. The selected candidate will provide Tier 2 application, desktop, and field IT support to business users. This role serves as an initial point of contact for IT-related issues and requires a strong customer-service mindset, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to nontechnical users.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide onsite, desk-side, and remote Tier 2 technical support. Troubleshoot Windows PCs and laptops, network connectivity, phones, printers, mobile devices, and handheld devices. Provide hardware and software application maintenance and support. Support technology refresh and equipment deployment projects. Perform PC/laptop imaging, including PXE-based imaging. Provide basic Active Directory support, including password resets and account unlocks. Manage and maintain IT assets in accordance with established requirements. Track and manage incidents through ITIL-focused ticket management systems. Coordinate issue resolution with internal IT teams, vendors, and other involved parties while maintaining ownership as the primary point of contact for end users. Follow IT standard processes, procedures, and security policies. Provide professional, customer-focused support to business users and clients. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
Previous hands-on field IT support experience is required. Strong Tier 2 desktop support and troubleshooting experience. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to nontechnical users. Strong prioritization and organizational skills. Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new systems. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or an Associate degree with 3 5 years of relevant IT experience. Experience with ITIL-focused ticket management tools. ServiceNow experience is preferred but not required. Experience with desktop/laptop imaging. Approximately 20% regional travel. Technology Experience Experience with some or all of the following: Microsoft Office 365 Microsoft Teams Windows 10 PXE / computer imaging Microsoft Edge Internet Explorer Active Directory iPhone/mobile device support Citrix Remote Desktop / Remote Assistance HP desktops and laptops Multi-function printers Hardware and software troubleshooting Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT support professional who is comfortable working directly with users in an onsite environment, troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software issues, managing competing priorities, and taking ownership of problems through resolution. This is a 1-year onsite contract position based in Battle Ground, Washington, with approximately 20% regional travel.
