About the role

Position Summary: Trans Edge Truck Centers is looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead the performance and growth of our Pittsburgh service operation. This is more than a traditional service management role. We are looking for a leader who understands the business behind the shop; someone who can lead people, build customer relationships, identify opportunities for growth and take ownership of department performance. The Service Manager leads the overall performance of the service department with responsibility for profitable growth, customer relationships, team performance and operational execution. This leader is expected to actively grow the business, maintain a strong Trans Edge presence in the market, develop customer relationships and create a sales-focused culture within the service team. The Service Manager works closely with Parts, Sales and dealership leadership to deliver a strong customer experience and achieve department goals.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the service department with a focus on profitability, growth, customer experience and team performance. Own department P&L performance and monitor key service metrics, KPIs, budgets, productivity, efficiency and lag days. Execute department goals, identify performance gaps and develop action plans to improve results. Grow service business through regular customer visits, relationship development, prospecting and new business opportunities. Build a sales-focused service culture that encourages direct customer contact, relationship building and business development. Develop strong partnerships with Parts, Sales and other departments to create a cohesive customer experience. Lead, coach and develop the service team while maintaining clear expectations and accountability. Hold regular team meetings and communicate goals, performance expectations and department priorities. Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure concerns are addressed promptly and professionally. Support hiring, onboarding, training and ongoing development of service employees. Ensure service operations meet company safety, quality and operational standards.
Experience & Qualifications: 5+ years of leadership experience within commercial truck service, fleet maintenance or a closely related heavy-duty service environment. Strong knowledge of commercial truck service operations. Experience managing P&L, department metrics and operational performance. Demonstrated ability to grow customer relationships and develop new business. Strong leadership, communication and team-building skills. Ability to work collaboratively across Service, Parts, Sales and dealership leadership. Compensation
Base Salary: $85,000–$100,000, based on experience.
Performance Bonus: Eligible for an annual performance bonus targeted at 20% of base salary, based on achievement of established department goals including profitability, business growth, customer development and operational performance. Exceptional performance may provide additional bonus opportunity. Why This Role We’re looking for someone who wants the opportunity to make an impact — not simply maintain what already exists. This role offers the ability to help shape the direction of the Pittsburgh service operation, build stronger customer relationships, develop the team and directly influence the growth and performance of the business. If you enjoy leading people, building customer relationships and turning opportunity into results, we’d like to hear from you.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
