About the Role: The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of facility infrastructure by performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks. This position requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and structural issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency. The technician will be responsible for routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs across various systems including plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical equipment. By maintaining the physical integrity of the facility, the Maintenance Technician supports a safe and productive environment for all occupants. This role demands a detail-oriented professional who can work independently and collaboratively to uphold high standards of quality and safety.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in maintenance work involving plumbing, electrical wiring, mechanical repair, and carpentry. Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately. Physical ability to climb ladders and perform manual labor. Good hearing and verbal communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.
Preferred Qualifications: Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems. Experience with drywall installation and repair. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in facility maintenance. Basic knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). First aid and OSHA safety training certifications.
Responsibilities: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems to ensure optimal functionality. Diagnose and repair issues related to mechanical systems, electrical wiring, drywall, and carpentry with precision and efficiency. Utilize precision measuring tools to assess and verify the accuracy of repairs and installations. Climb ladders and access confined spaces safely to conduct inspections, repairs, and installations as needed. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report maintenance needs, progress, and safety concerns.
Skills: The required skills such as plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical repair are essential for diagnosing and fixing a variety of facility issues on a daily basis. Precision measuring skills ensure that all repairs and installations meet exact specifications, preventing future malfunctions. Carpentry and drywall skills allow the technician to maintain and restore structural elements effectively. The ability to climb ladders safely is crucial for accessing elevated or hard-to-reach areas during inspections and repairs. Strong communication skills enable the technician to collaborate with team members and convey important information clearly, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
