About the role

Company Description: Pathfinders College & Career Advisors helps families approach the college journey as a holistic process focused on long-term success, not just admissions. The organization emphasizes empowering students mentally, physically, and financially through clear guidance and a structured approach. Pathfinders begins with career exploration to build a strong foundation before selecting colleges and majors, reducing confusion and stress. By aligning students’ interests and aspirations with schools that offer strong programs in their desired fields, Pathfinders supports sound academic, financial, and personal fit. The mission is to help families regain control of the college application process and make confident, informed decisions.
Role Description: This is a part-time, remote role focused on college advising sales and community engagement. The team member will connect with families and community partners to explain Pathfinders’ services, qualify leads, and guide prospective clients through the decision-making process. Daily activities include conducting virtual consultations, following up with inquiries, and managing a simple sales pipeline. The role also involves building relationships with schools, community organizations, and youth programs, as well as participating in online events, webinars, and workshops to increase awareness of the Pathfinders approach. Collaboration with advising staff to share feedback from families and refine outreach strategies is an important part of this position.
Qualifications: Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage families with empathy, clarity, and professionalism. Sales and Sales Management abilities to qualify leads, support enrollment decisions, and track basic sales metrics. Experience in Training or facilitation to support workshops, presentations, or webinars for students, families, and partners. Comfort working in a remote environment, including proficiency with video conferencing, CRM or contact tracking tools, and online collaboration platforms. Understanding of or interest in college admissions, career exploration, or youth development; prior advising or counseling experience is a plus. Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse communities and maintain a strengths-based, non-judgmental approach. Reliable time management and organizational skills to handle part-time hours, follow-ups, and outreach commitments. Relevant education or experience in education, counseling, social work, business, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
